Giving the camera a rest in Key West, Florida

Posted by: Wil Fernandez    Tags:  florida, road trip    Posted date:  October 15, 2010  |  No comment

On my 13th week on the road, I drove the Winnebago from Miami, across the Seven Mile Bridge (a.k.a. the “Overseas Highway”), down to Key West. I had never been down to the tiny chain of islands before and in fact, I didn’t even realize that there was a bridge that connected them to the mainland. Since it was June, the humidity made the air thick like a wall and the days seem much hotter then the thermometer read.

I found the history of Key West rather interesting, especially the businesses that thrived on the salvaging of shipwrecks in the mid-19th century.

I could blame my lack of Key West photos on the exhausting humidity, but really, I was busy eating out, motoring around the island and partaking in the best that Duval Street had to offer. In fact, as you can see by the primary locations of my mobile phone photos, I just gave the gear a rest and enjoyed myself in Key West.

On a positive note, I did start updating my mobile phone blog more often. Hope you’ll check in on me now and then!
